I am a fourth grade English Language Arts teacher at Westmeade Elementary. After speaking with my principal and discussing our highest need area in terms of technology, he shared with me that he feels classroom teachers aren't properly trained on how to use the vast amounts of technology available to them. He noticed this through frequent walk throughs and talking with teachers about the matter.
I feel that teachers want to use these supportive devices but they are overwhelmed with the amount of technology available to them. They need training on technology that will have the greatest impact on their students and address their student's highest need area. By providing this, Westmeade will address its current problem of being technology illiterate.
